Tips & Safety

Below are recommendations for safely enjoying the most out of your candles.

GLASS CANDLES

SAFETY BASICS
First things first. Remove from packing before use.
Surfaces. Before lighting your candle, make sure you have it on an even, heat resistant, non-flammable surface. If a candle is lit and becomes hot, the vessel may crack if it’s on a cool surface such as glass or marble.
Avoid. Keep your candle away from drafts, fans, children, pets and flammable materials such as curtains.
Monitor. As tempting as it may be sometimes, never leave a lit candle unattended. Always burn it within sight.

BEST USE TIPS
Memory Burn. Burning your candle for the first time is an important process. Allow the candle to burn for about two full hours or until the top layer of wax is liquid and touching all the sides of the vessels. When it does this, your candle will “remember” to burn to the sides, which keeps the wax from “tunneling” down.
Trim Wicks. Each time before you relight your candle, remember to trim the wick to ¼ inch. When you do this, you help the wick burn safer, slower and better.
Realign Wicks. After you put your candle out, if the wick has moved off center, gently readjust it back to it’s initial place in middle of the vessel and wait until it becomes solid again before you light it again. Don’t ever let it burn against the glass.
Maintain. Keep wax free of any debris or matches.
Ventilate. Use only in well ventilated areas.

OTHER
Handling. Remember that the vessel may become hot after burning for a while so it is not recommended to move a candle that has currently been lit for a long time or recently put out.
Extinguish. Candles that are flickering, excessively smoking, or have a high flame can be unsafe and should be put out right away.
